“As Chair of Universities South West and Vice-Chancellor of UWE, Bristol I wanted to say a big thank you for attending our 2010 conference. There are few people that can hold a large audience of academics and have them completely captivated. You delivered an inspirational talk which we lived and breathed with you. Your life journey and your passion for exploration, conservation and education was one of the most powerful aurations I have heard. The work you do and the hope you give through your expeditions and through the education programmes you offer is fantastic. There can be little more powerful than inspiring school children to have confidence to follow their dreams and understand the world a little better. The 13 universities across the South West were proud to have you as their key note speaker. Thank you.”

Education Through Expeditions brings a refreshing and unique way for students to learn about our planet through the eyes of leading scientists and explorers. By linking cutting edge fieldwork projects and expeditions via an innovative e-learning tool, students gain an inside knowledge of what it is like to be a scientist.
What makes ETE truly unique, is the ability to follow curriculum-based expeditions to environments from polar to jungle;desert to ocean, on a daily basis through constructed forums and discussion boards. Students can question the world around us and learn through first-hand experiences and credible eye-witness accounts.
ETE offers a range of essential resources and tools which makes not just the classroom a fun learning environment, but provides everything needed for a teacher to plan and run inspirational lessons to engage students based on a wealth of knowledge and experience that is cross-curricula; ETE brings something for eveyone.
SWGfL is pleased to endorse ETE's work through working in partnership to promote active learning within schools.
